On a sunny spring day in Stockholm, the DigiCityClimate project team gathered for a closing seminar – a moment to reflect, share results and look ahead. Also present were representatives from ICLEI, who visited the city to experience the testbed in Hammarby Sjöstad and meet residents and housing associations involved in the project.
Wrapping up – and moving forward
Among the highlights presented were the digital control room, the AI-powered energy assistant Spara, new visualisations of building data, and results from measurements showing how urban surface temperatures are affected by greenery. Just as valuable, however, were the conversations – about opportunities, challenges, and what comes next.
Although DigiCityClimate has now formally reached its conclusion, the work continues. There is a clear ambition to develop the solutions further, deepen collaboration, and share insights more broadly. Because key questions remain: How do we make energy data easier to understand? How can digital tools support local change? And how can lessons from Hammarby Sjöstad benefit other cities – in Sweden and around the world?
The images capture a few moments from the day – with people, technology and the future all in focus.
