Through innovative thinking and climate-smart solutions, together we can create the sustainable society of the future. ElectriCITY Innovation wants to harness people’s engagement in climate issues! We work with citizen-driven climate transition — a bottom-up perspective and a holistic view of climate issues concerning energy, transport, digitalization, and the circular economy.
We are eager to collaborate to spread our proven model to more municipalities and neighborhoods, both in Sweden and internationally. We act locally but think globally.
Wiser together
In ElectriCITY Innovation’s testbed in Hammarby Sjöstad, we demonstrate how residents/civil society, businesses, researchers, and municipalities can collaborate for sustainable energy, transport, digital solutions, and the circular economy — while saving money at the same time!
We regularly organize venues for meetings and networking where we collectively explore innovations and share experiences regarding, for example, energy investments. Together, we seek solutions that are beneficial for both the wallet and the climate.
Research projects – national and international
Together with our members, ElectriCITY Innovation actively seeks current calls for proposals in the focus areas of energy, transportation, digitalization, and circular economy. By collaborating with our members, we can quickly identify new opportunities and participate in projects relevant to our operations and future challenges. Today, we are involved in both national and international (primarily within the EU) research projects.
Innovative products and services
We help our members develop their products and services by testing, setting requirements, and examining commercial potential under real-world conditions in our living testbed in Hammarby Sjöstad. This provides our members with better opportunities to develop competitive products and services.
Living testbed
Hammarby Sjöstad is home to over 25,000 residents, with more than 14,000 people working in the area. Since its inception in 2014, ElectriCITY Innovation has collaborated with Sjöstadsföreningen, local housing cooperatives, businesses, property companies, entrepreneurs, local initiatives, and community organizations. This is also our living testbed. Real people, in real buildings, exploring and testing in real life. This provides us with unique opportunities — and unique insights.
